Ryan Shaw tours festivals galore

Newcomer Ryan Shaw is hitting the festival circuit this summer, satiating dehydrated, sunstroked listeners with sweet, sweet soul stylings. Along the way, he'll spend a morning at CBS studios July 28 for an appearance on the Saturday Early Show. The 26-year-old Georgian’s debut album, This Is Ryan Shaw, premiered in April on One Haven/RED/Columbia Records.

Shaw’s music background includes Pentecostal gospel, a role in the Tyler Perry-directed musical I Know I’ve Been Changed, recruitment into New York’s Fabulous Soul Shakers and finally, the classic discovered-in-a-club-style big break. Since recording This Is Ryan Shaw with guitarist Johnny Gale (who has previously worked with Hank Ballard and the Ramones), he’s caught the attention of NPR’s All Things Considered -- you can listen to host Michelle Norris’s interview with him here.
