Video of Smashing Pumpkins on Letterman

Smashing Pumpkins have learned a thing or two since making their music video for “Tarantula”:

1. Ditch the white cape; it is not effective without natural or manufactured air flow .
2. Ditch the random alterna-somethings; they are not as effective without actually singing or playing instruments.

Note how, except in long shots, the camera spends zero time on new guitarist Jeff Schroeder (at least bassist Ginger Reyes made it into a couple mediums).

Yesterday, Reprise released Zeitgeist, the Pumpkins' first album since “reuniting."
