Black Crowes caw up new album

The Black Crowes recently finished recording an album of totally new songs, none of which, they say, have been played live – so even if any of the unknown 16 track titles had been released, supposedly no record of them would exist on YouTube, Crowesbase or anywhere else in the ever-expanding internet cosmos. Surely a few new bluesy-rock nuggets will surface before the album comes out in spring 2008, as Chris and Rich Robinson and company continue touring heavily through October.

Guitarist and producer Paul Stacey, who has worked with the Crowes since 2006, is back for this record alongside new contributors Adam MacDougall on keyboards (who has joined the band on tour) and guitarist Luther Dickinson from North Mississippi Allstars.

Last month, the Robinsons released Brothers of a Feather: Live at the Roxy, recorded during their three-night stint at the Roxy in Los Angeles, sometime before the Black Crowes reunion was finalized.
