Get ready for Robyn Hitchcock reissues

Were you worried that singer-songwriter Robyn Hitchcock would move forward without looking back? After all, Hitchcock has recently released Spooked and Ole! Tarantula and has even been the subject of a documentary, so wouldn’t it make sense for him to march steadily into the future?

You don’t have to worry, Hitchcock fan. On October 16, North Carolina’s Yep Roc Records will release I Wanna Go Backwards, a box set that compiles expanded editions of three major Hitchcock albums from the 1980s: Black Snake Diamond Role, I Often Dream of Trains, and Eye. The set will also feature While Thatcher Mauled Britain Part 1 & 2, which is a new compilation of b-sides, outtakes, and home demo recordings. Besides the musical goodies, there are poems, photos, cartoons, and even an excerpt from a novel in progress.

If such an intense explosion of Hitchcockiness seems intimidating, you will also be able to buy the three re-released discs sans box set, but you should probably just get over your fears and go for the big one.
