It can't be said that we never saw it coming. The somewhat re-linked Jesus & Mary Chain has confirmed that the studio beckons, though no specific details are out about when and where the seeds of a new album will be sewn. Nine years ago, Sub Pop released the band’s last record, Munki.
Earlier this year, founders Jim and William Reid came together with Loz Colbert from Ride, Phil King and Mark Crozer for some high profile Jesus & Mary Chain gigs at Coachella (with Scarlett Johansson) and other festivals (without Scarlett Johansson). This fall, the group will play a handfull of shows with solo, acoustic, long-haired and nicely-facial-structured Evan Dando. Feel that Gen-X angst.
