We’ve all heard stories of rowdy bands and crazy concertgoers invading beautiful, quiet places. A tranquil forest and a clear pond can quickly be transformed into a massive fire-pit and a dumping ground for chemical waste. In a matter of days, serenity is destroyed forever. Fortunately, this haunting narrative has little to do with this year’s Northwest String Summit, which will take place in Horning’s Hideout in North Plains, Oregon.
If Horning’s Hideout was about to play host to a Limp Bizkit reunion tour, then North Plains residents would have something to worry about, but the Northwest String Summit promises three days of restrained displays of great musicianship. Musical hosts Yonder Mountain String Band will perform all three nights alongside a host of other musical talent, and the festival will also feature a superjam, a band contest, as well as crafts and vending. Tickets are $135-$150 and are available at TicketsWest.com.
