Most of the information on PJ Harvey’s new album, White Chalk, was revealed to you a month ago, along with tantalizing song previews via not-altogether-crappily-recorded concert footage. A bit of an ear-tease, maybe, since no US release date had been announced. But hey, now it has: Sept. 25, one day after the UK premier.
In a tradition passed down through generations and generations, the album will be preceded by a single – “When Under Ether – out Sept. 17 on 7” vinyl and downloadable format. The B-side for that baby is “Wait,” one of Harvey’s first ever recordings, dating almost twenty years back to 1988.
Her upcoming Royal Festival Hall concert in London is sold out already, but there may be time to grab tickets for a release-day show at Bristol’s Colston Hall.
