Raconteurs chat about upcoming album

Being the literal raconteurs they are, that is, people adept at sharing anecdotes, Jack White and Brendan Benson of the band Raconteurs have chosen a time-tested storytelling medium to drop new details on their next album -- fake instant messaging on fake MS-DOS (as is the style of their website).

brendan: jack why don't you want to tell people about the new album we've got cooking?

jack: i'll tell them when the time is right.

brendan: what time is it right now?

jack: three o'clock

brendan: but the clock on the wall says 2:10

jack: ok, the time is right.

Wakka wakka! A regular Abbot and Costello of internet chat, they are, with an exchange well-worth perusing in full. For you Joe Friday, just-the-facts sticklers, Jack goes on to say that many new songs are in the works, and that Brendan and Patrick Keeler (drums) are starting a two piece of their own on the side. Bass player "little Jack" Lawrence is no fifth wheel, however, as (like Keeler) he continues his involvement with the Greenhornes and third band, Blanche. According to Billboard, the Raconteurs' follow-up to 2006's Broken Boy Soldiers won't be out until sometime next year.
