Star in the next Scorpion King

If you've ever thought, "They should make another scorpion king film; that first one was simply not enough," or, "If I ate just a few more steroids I would look just like a young Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson," well, you're in luck. It's time to put these two ideas together, as Universal Studios is looking to produce a prequel to the The Scorpion King with a new actor in the title role, to be called The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian, which will also make this the fourth film in The Mummy franchise. Or is it the first since it takes place before The Scorpion King? But then, does that make The Mummy the third film in its own original series? And when the next Mummy movie comes out in 2008 what does does that make it, third or fifth? My brain just exploded.

"There is no requirement to look exactly like a young Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, but we still need an EXOTIC QUALITY: Polynesian, mixed race, Arabic, brunette. NOT blond. We also need our Mathayus to reflect the charisma and comedic elements of the character created by The Rock, especially in his warm, relaxed and humorous relationship with Layla, the young girl whom he has grown up with, and with whom he experiences a growing sexual tension," says the studio.

Yep. The film is set to shoot in October.
