"That was really, really surreal," Black Lips bassist Jared Swilley told the Chicago Sun-Times in an article published today about the 57-year-old New Yorker who recently climbed to the top of a giant globe in front of the Trump International Hotel -- while wearing rollerblades -- to distribute fliers for the group's show that night. "He was just a fan, and he was really old."
So congratulations, Richard Fredette, for demonstrating the appropriate level of mishief we've all come to expect from a Black Lips-involved day. Last week, Fredette's hometown also found itself treated to a record-store originating circus parade, complete with a marching band, fire-breathers and wild costumes. One might think the Black Lips' native Atlanta would have descended into Warriors meets Greatest Show on Earth chaos by now, but even after this summer's strip club concert, the city remains largely intact.
