Brian Wilson premieres new work

| | Comments (0)

Summer might be officially over, but that doesn’t mean that our favorite Beach Boy has to take a break from the sunshine. On Sept. 10, Brian Wilson presented his latest musical offerings to an audience at London’s Royal Festival Hall. Songs from the That Lucky Old Sun project promise to deliver those fun-loving, California-inspired vibes that are reminiscent of Wilson’s past albums like Smile.

Aside from experimenting with new material, the Beach Boy mastermind has also been drafted to receive a Kennedy Center Honor. The ceremony will take place on December 26, and will be broadcasted on CBS that same night.

Despite all this hoopla surrounding Wilson, there is no definite start date for the recording process on That Lucky Old Sun. On top of that, he denies being signed to any label at the moment which seems to put production at a stand still. Wilson doesn’t appear to be too worried about it though, stating that when it comes to the new album, his real objective at the moment is “presenting it to the audience,” which is what he is currently doing in Europe.
