Radio station plays Hanson prank

| | Comments (2)

Last month, Chicago alt-rock station WKQX (Q101) played a song called “The Great Divide” by “a mystery artist.” It quickly became one of the station’s most requested songs and was put in heavy rotation. A DJ announced three weeks later that the band in question was Hanson.

The moral of the story? For some reason, Hanson got a bad rap after “MMMBop,” but it’s actually a great band.

The other moral of the story? Pranks are FUN.

Hanson is getting ready for a tour in support of their new album The Walk.

Haha awesome prank! More people should do that. They'd actually listen. I think they get caught up with the name. Hanson really is a great band, great music. Theyre the real thing. :)

I think this is amazing. People are just stupid. If they really listened to the music, they would love it. I'm curious to know what happened afr people found out it was hanson. Did they keep requesting it?
