The Pipettes land in the states

The Pipettes --a Brighton-born dance-pop trio of sassy-skirted sirens straight out of the '50s-- are dropping their first full-length album, We are the Pipettes, come October 2nd, while kicking off their nation-wide tour that very evening in the windy city of Chi-town.

The bubblegum chewing, doo-wop crooning wonder girls have backed big names like the now defunct Sleater-Kinney and fellow musical throwback singer Amy Winehouse, and with good measure. The girls sound like Chicks on Speed baking a cake in the kitchen with June Cleaver (if that sort of thing is possible), and they don't let up.

Don't miss The Pipettes (pronounced 'pipp-ettes,' not like the pipe cleaners you used in your overpriced and under-inspired spell in art school) when they come to you soon.
