The Deadstring Brothers have been living it up in 2007, or at least keeping busy. Yesterday, they released their third album, Silver Mountain, and have been on tour since the beginning of the month. Now, the grassroots-rock band is getting into film.
No, the Detroit-based group has not been hand-picked to do the soundtrack for O Brother, Where Art Thou This Time? or Cold Mountain: Resurrection. For their latest project, The Deadstring Brothers are sans Hollywood producers, and strictly focusing on themselves.
On Oct. 17, the band will film its concert at the Bama Theater in Tuscaloosa, Ala. Twelve High Definition cameras will be at the venue to capture The Deadstring Brothers in their purest high-resolution form. The filmed concert is set to be made into a DVD, but there is no news yet on when it will be released.
