Hospitals, shmospitals: the Cribs plot North American tour

Blackouts, hospitalization, whatever. Although the concert stage has been a treacherous landscape for UK band the Cribs, with twin brothers Ryan and Gary Jarman examined by doctors earlier this month for dehydration and blood poisoning (respectively), it is - historically - the best forum for live bands. And so, the pair and their healthier, drumming brother soldier on, announcing details for a North American tour in November.

Hopefully, our nation's bouncers will prove more attentive - at a recent Sheffield University gig, Ryan was nearly kicked out by security guards who mistook him for a random audience dude after he yanked off his shirt and leapt into the crowd. After some confusion (it's difficult to see over the five or so guys in white shirts with their backs to the band), his guitar tech stepped in amidst the chaos to put things right. NME threw some footage up here.

The Cribs' latest album, Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever, was produced by Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos, featured some guest input from Sonic Youth's Lee Ranaldo and debuted on Warner Brothers in May. Since then, they've played two sold-out US tours with White Rabbits and Sean Na Na, but the upcoming adventure -- though not particularly expansive -- will be their largest headlining American tour so far.
