Jason Schwartzman posts new song on OurStage.com

Now that Jason Schwartzman is a big-time movie star, it’s easy to forget that he actually has quite a musical pedigree. Before his film career took off, Schwartzman was the drummer for the O.C.-soundtracking Phantom Planet, and now, it looks like he’s ready to step back into the musical spotlight.

Schwartzman and his band, Coconut Records, recently uploaded their song “West Coast” to OurStage.com, where it has been attracting a lot of online chatter. The song – a quiet little melody that that takes a turn toward the anthemic – is also available on Coconut Records’ album, Nighttiming, which is available online and at a few independent record stores. Listen to the CD on the way to the theater to see The Darjeeling Limited, and enjoy a full night of The Schwartz.
