Schools vote for free Dave Matthews Band concert

If manufacturers of plastic red cups experienced a dip in sales last week, we may have an explanation. Students at colleges and universities across the country were busy texting AT&T, hoping to win the “World’s Largest Pep Rally” contest. The prize: a pep rally featuring a free concert by the Dave Matthews Band at their school.

Over 100 NCAA Division I schools participated in the contest, where students sent “invitations” to the band via text message. Voting closed on Oct. 15 but, if you go to one of the participating institutions, keep an eye on this website to see if you your school gets to host the Nov. 12 show.
