Sly & The Family Stone to play NYC... if Sly shows up

After making the world's most awkward comeback at the 2006 Grammys, keeping the legend alive on a quick European tour, and reissuing his band's entire catalog, Sly Stone is ready to return to the Big Apple. Well, probably. Anyone who knows the history of Sly and his band knows that the man has an unorthodox sense of time and punctuality, to say the least. The ensuing years haven't mollified those tendencies to any extent, apparently.

But as Brooklyn Vegan reports, Sly's all set for a Dec. 7 date at New York City's B.B. King Blues Club. A presale should go down Friday, with public ticket sales kicking in next week, according to the blog. Will Sly arrive and play a full set? Just remember: you can make it if you try, Sly.
