Cribs reschedule U.S. tour to open for Sex Pistols

We last wrote that neither subpar fluid intake nor toxification could keep the Cribs off the road, but apparently the group has been knocked asunder by that shifty mistress called success, and has to postpone its U.S. tour because of “scheduling conflicts due to a flurry of activity.”

It seems old Johnny Lydon, or somebody from the Sex Pistols reunion party committee, invited the Cribs to be the opening band, apparently deeming them more reputable than old gorgonzola cheese in old boots and/or bowl- headed drummers in court rooms. They will join the Sex Pistols for already-sold-out November 8, 10, 12 and 14 dates at London’s Brixton Academy.

No worries for folks who bought tickets to canceled shows, however, as they will be redeemable at the gigs now occurring sometime in early 2008. Any for shows that can’t be rescheduled will be refunded, but that doesn’t seem a likely problem as the new North American tour will supposedly be more expansive.
