Turntablists extraordinaire DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist have joined forces before. But with the emergence of electronic duos like Justice and Simian Mobile Disco, now seems like a good time for a pair of mixmasters to go out and do their thing, even if it isn't as obviously poppy as those other artists. As if to confirm that their act isn't such an easy pill to swallow, Shadow and Chemist are calling their new tour "The Hard Sell."
DJ Shadow has made his name by staying a step ahead of the curve, from his peerless debut Endtroducing... to his work with UNKLE and his latest explorations of hyphy hip-hop. Cut Chemist's work includes stints on the ones and twos for Ozomatli and Jurassic 5. Together, they actually make for a pretty compelling bill, despite what the tour title suggests.
