Dresden Dolls tour - separately and together

Given all of the time they spend performing together in the pressure cooker of a "Brechtian punk cabaret," perhaps some alone time was in store for Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione of The Dresden Dolls. Their theatrical onstage interplay could wear out even the most kindred of spirits, after all. So they began a trial separation in 2007, with Palmer working on a Ben Folds-produced solo debut album and Viglione doing his creepy drummer thing throughout the Boston music scene.

The Dolls' upcoming tour schedule, however, brings the two musicians' paths back into alignment. Palmer and Viglione begin on separate trails, performing shows on different continents before rejoining forces on Dec. 27 for two shows in one night. From there, it's a standard jaunt covering the East Coast, Canada, and parts of the Midwest.

MarketWire.com has a press release on the trek with quotes from the two Dolls. If we're to trust them, the winter gigs should be "stripped-down" affairs, possibly involving "a rubber chicken or two."
