Forget about the peaceful white-robed angels that will soon saturate the windows of shopping malls, right next to Santa Claus. Ignore all signs of grace and tolerance associated with the typical Christmas story. Marah is kicking it old testament style, unleashing the wrath and anger with its forthcoming album Angels of Destruction!
Okay, maybe that’s a little over dramatic, but the release of the band's sixth studio album does promise a good helping of Marah's unique brand of rock via Americana. With the addition of pianist Christine Smith (Jesse Malin’s band), this record delves into the romantic past of 1920’s jazz, intertwining it with quirky vaudeville tones. Look for Angels of Destruction! to come out in the new year on Jan. 8.
Although show dates have not been set, Marah will be touring in support of the new album come early 2008. No news on if Nick Hornby will be joining them again as an opener, but one can always hope.
