This month you might have done a double take as you waited in line to pay for your goods at the grocery store. There, right next to the Altoids and Snickers bars, is a picture of a very porcelain Michael Jackson on the whitest cover ever of Ebony Magazine.
The King of Pop has reason to celebrate, as this year marks the 25th anniversary of Thriller, the album that launched him into the realm of international stardom and won him eight Grammy Awards to boot. So what better time than now for The Man in the Mirror to triumphantly return into some media limelight?
Speaking of which, Leonard Rowe, one of Jackson’s previous promoters, has been meeting with members of the Jackson 5 to discuss a possible tour for 2008. Unfortunately, this family reunion may not be as easy as 1, 2, 3. In an interview with Access Atlanta, Rowe stated that Michael’s “brothers are ready. Janet is ready. But the motor that makes the car run isn’t just yet.”
Still, the superstar has yet to say no to the project, leaving the fate of the tour in limbo. If the reunion does happen, it would be the first time that the whole gang has worked together since the last Jackson 5 studio album in 1976.
