Springsteen, Dylan, Hold Steady join hunger benefit CD

| | Comments (0)

Although it's best known for serving rowdy tourists and businessmen at its global chain of restaurants, Hard Rock International hopes to raise money for people who really need service - the poverty-stricken and hungry worldwide.

To that end, the organization has brought together an impressive array of artists for a benefit CD entitled SERVE2. That includes the two songwriters whose influence reigns large over today's music scene - Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen. Other contributing artists include KT Tunstall, The Hold Steady, Jackson Browne and Brandi Carlile. What's more, nearly all of the tracks featured here are exclusives, including live cuts, covers and rarities. The compilation arrives Nov. 13 on HardRock.com and iTunes, and also at Hard Rock locations worldwide. Here's the track list:

1. Bruce Springsteen - "The Ghost of Tom Joad" (Live in Dublin)
2. KT Tunstall - "Heal Over" (Live at Gaia Music, London)
3. Bob Dylan - “The Ballad of Hollis Brown (Live at Carnegie Hall, 1963)”
4. Joss Stone - “Big Ol’ Game”
5. Jackson Browne - “Casino Nation (Live from Melbourne, Australia)”
6. Citizen Cope feat. Alice Smith - “107°”
7. Brandi Carlile - “The Times They Are A-Changin’ (Live from Boston)”
8. Marc Broussard - “Bring It On Home To Me” (Sam Cooke cover)
9. The Hold Steady - “Arms and Hearts”
10. O.A.R. - “Dareh Meyod (Live at Madison Square Garden)”
11. Natasha Bedingfield - “Lay Down”
12. Mat Kearney - “Nothing Left to Lose” (Acoustic Version)
13. Ghosts - “Stay The Night”
14. Andrew W.K. - “This Is My World”

Bonus digital tracks:
Toby Lightman - “Better (Live From Joe’s Pub)”
Sons of William - “Bell Bottom Blues” (Derek & the Dominos cover)
Hellogoodbye - “Baby It’s Fact (Live From New York, NY)”
Josh Rouse - “Start Again”
Jen Chapin - “You Haven’t Done Nothin’” (Stevie Wonder cover)
Eli Cook - “Man-Child”
Griffin House - “Love to Begin”

Now, for the cause itself. All net proceeds from the compilation go directly to Artists Against Hunger & Poverty (AAHP), an artist-directed division of World Hunger Year (WHY). To learn more (and hear some song samples from the album), visit Hard Rock's SERVE2 page.
