Vice satisfies Lust for Raveonettes

Vice satisfies Lust for Raveonettes

The duo-driven, Danish-born Raveonettes – she with the pristine, angular polygon-face, he with the accessibly handsome, Edward Norton-esque features – have just struck a U.S. distribution deal with Vice Records for their third album, Lust Lust Lust. Set to cross borders onto the CD racks of the free sometime in 2008, the record drops on Nov. 12 in the UK, courtesy Fierce Panda.

Several new Fender-fuzz--driven tracks have been posted to the group’s MySpace, including the catchy “Dead Sound,” which characteristically pairs Sune and Sharin’s whispy two-part harmony with the steady rhythmic persistence of Jesus and Mary Chain, transitioning verse and chorus with ethereal ambient flourish. Great on-your-way-out music, or already-out-and-about music, in case you happen to be catching them on their upcoming Euro tour (details on the MySpace).

Previously signed to Sony BMG, the Raveonettes' 2002 album Whip it On won best rock album at the Danish Music awards, a ceremony Wikipedia speculates might not be sufficiently notable. Whatever, Wikipedia! Paste thinks it's aces.
