Watch The National, more get busy in a cab

| | Comments (0)

We already know from Taxicab Confessions that there’s nothing quite like folks doin’ it in the back of a vehicle they are paying per-block to use. But it doesn’t only happen in America, and it ain’t only everyday nutjobs and freakshows who pile in for the ride.

Some great artists have been revealing their business behind the driver’s shoulder in a series of videos by the British production company Just So Films in conjunction with Hidden Fruit called “Black Cab Sessions.” This most recent ones have featured Elvis Perkins, the Brightlights, The National and – just posted today – beloved-by-Bowie pop rockers Fanfarlo getting stripped down for a version of the tune “We Live By the Lake.”

And by stripped down, we mean there aren’t any horns, which lends itself to more wordplay, but there’s no way to write that word and not come across as a 14-year-old. Which music writers on the Internet never do.

Anyway, previous sessions an be viewed on the official Black Cab Sessions website, which has a mailing list, or on the Just So Films YouTube site. Meanwhile, here’s Fanfarlo with “We Live by the Lake.”
