Deerhunter, Silver Jews, more on Rare Book Room comp

Brooklyn has all the fun, doesn't it? In a borough that seems to birth a new blog sensation every week, it's as if there's a constant flow of exciting young talent passing through the region. Rare Book Room Studio is one of the many recording spaces built to capture the sounds of the Big Apple's most buzz-happy quarter. For over a decade, owner Nicolas Vernhes has been manning the production boards for visiting bands.

On Feb. 26, the Rare Book Room will issue its first official release, Living Bridge, encompassing 25 exclusive tracks from arty indie performers. As its title implies, Living Bridge is designed to flow together, with lengthy song intros and outros cross-cutting together into "one giant sonic trip." Want an inkling of how that sounds? Check out the Rare Book Room's MySpace.
