He’s already rallied the general public around environmental causes, and infinitely upped his position on the cool meter by trying to save the earth via a wicked good 24 hour concert with some of music's finest. As if Al Gore needs more organic icing on top of his Inconvenient Truth cake, the former V.P. has also managed to get his little green thumbs around a Nobel Peace Prize. Well, almost.
On Dec. 10, Gore and the UN’s climate-change panel will be bestowed with the coveted award in a ceremony hosted by actors Uma Thurmon and Tommy Lee Jones. But, everyone know that when it come to Nobel functions, all the diplomats and important government officials of the foundation don’t really start throwing down until the after party.
In "long satin gowns and tailed jackets", guest will enjoy the serenade of some pretty outstanding ladies at the Nobel Prize concert on Dec. 11. Alicia Keys, Melissa Etheridge, Annie Lennox and Kylie Minogue are all slated to perform the day after event. KT Tunstall and Earth, Wind and Fire are also scheduled to help the gala-goers get their groove on.
Get snubbed on your invite to the big event? Well, the concert will be broadcasted in more than 100 countries, so check your local listings.
