We last brought you news that Jonny Greenwood is responsible for the brooding tunes heard in the new Paul Thomas Anderson film There Will Be Blood. Now The Playlist has sniffed out two tracks for your listening pleasure.
The track listing has changed a bit, with "Smear" (which comes from Greenwood's "Popcorn Superhet Receiver") being dropped and two tracks taking its place.
Anderson thinks the movie nears the horror genre, so it's no surprise Krzysztof Penderecki's influence wormed itself into the work of Greenwood, who's an avid fan of the Polish composer. Penderecki's eerie effect can also be heard in some Radiohead songs (tell us you don't get the heebie-jeebies listening to "Climbing Up the Walls") and scores from The Shining, The Exorcist and Children of Men.
