The next big Will Ferrell picture, Semi-Pro, finally has some publicity materials coming out. First is the screenshots that have been leaking out, such as the one above found on The Playlist. The man in the afro is actually André 3000, who is putting in more than just a quick cameo, as he, Will Arnett and Woody Harrelson will be co-starring in the feature. For more screenshots, head over to Cinema Blend.
The second bit is the film's trailer below:
Semi-Pro looks like it'll take on the period when the ABA transitioned into the NBA. More than that, it's an excuse to make jokes about the '70s and basketball, which is really what you go to a film like this for anyhow. The movie was written by Scot Armstrong, who worked with Ferrell previously on Old School. So while it may just cater to the crowd that's already fans of Ferrell's comedies, Semi-Pro doesn't look like it'll disappoint them. The film comes out February 29, which should tide people over until Old School Dos comes out in 2009.
