Shawn Mullins readies honeydew, prepares for short tour

While we scarf down holiday goodies and don oversized 2008 glasses, Shawn Mullins is packing up for a short, early-January tour in support of his new self-produced album, honeydew (March 11).

Inspired by the multitudes and gamut of people he's met during his travels, Mullins features character vignettes on the full-length release, which was recorded in his home state of Georgia. Guitarist Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crow), Francine Reed (Lyle Lovett) and Kasey Chambers all make appearances.
