The Word reforms, tours

The Word reforms, tours

Once upon a time, "grease" was the word. But now, the word is The Word, or if you prefer, The Word is the word. Confused? You shouldn’t be. In that sentence, the second “The Word” and the third “The Word” referred to The Word, a supergroup made up of Chris Chew, Cody Dickinson, and Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars; John Medeski; and Robert Randolph. For the purposes of brevity, we refer to this array of talents as The Word.

Now that we’ve got our words (and Words) sorted out, we’re happy to report that The Word is reuniting for four very special concerts this month. The Word will stop in Hartford, New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. You should check them out, and that way, we will refrain from making any more puns (or attempts at puns). And if you can’t make it to the Northeast during the holiday season, don’t forget about the supergroup’s 2001 CD, conveniently titled The Word.

The traveling Word:

26 - Hartford, Conn. @ Webster Theatre
27 - New York, N.Y. @ Terminal 5
28 - Philadelphia, Pa. @ Electric Factory
29 - Washington, D.C. @ 9:30 Club
