Bob Mould tours U.S. in support of District Line

| | Comments (0)

Why isn’t Bob Mould exhausted? A musical Jack-of-all-trades (if all of those trades involve difficult-to-pronounce or oddly-derived names), the former Hüsker Dü guitarist, songwriter and vocalist has announced North American tour dates to follow the Anti- Records release of his latest solo effort, District Line, slated to hit stores Feb. 5.

The punk pioneer and oh-so-prolific rocker has by no means been idle since the demise of Hüsker Dü at the end of the ‘80s. He formed the band Sugar in the ‘90s, has been putting out a slew of solo albums after and in between all his other projects, and even worked for a stint as a scriptwriter for the WCW (that's right, World Championship Wrestling). He's recorded using the name LoudBomb, a side project inspired by the instrumental dance music from his solo album The Last Dog And Pony Show. Mould also does live DJ work in D.C. with dance music artist Rich Morel, a collaboration they call Blowoff. The duo released an LP under this moniker last year.

This month, Mould is also taking up temporary DJ residency on XMU as part of their Artists In Residency (AIR) Time series. The show airs every Tuesday in January at 7 p.m. PST/10 p.m. EST on XMU, Channel 43.

Anti- released Mould’s first digital single from District Line, “The Silence Between Us,” on Tuesday (Jan. 8) in preparation for the album’s February street date. In support of this latest musical onslaught, he’s coming to a city near you.
