Ingrid Michaelson, Cary Brothers, more do Hotel tour

Bespectacled songbird Ingrid Michaelson may be best known for her single “The Way I Am,” a cozy anthem to sweaters featured in an Old Navy holiday campaign, but all of that may change after this year’s Hotel Café tour.

The tour, now in its fourth year, is named for Hollywood’s Hotel Café, a 200-seat coffee shop that has grown into a premier music venue for both established and emerging singer-songwriters. Up-and-coming bands open for big name draws such as Damien Rice and Death Cab for Cutie, both of whom have graced the Hotel Café stage in the past.

In addition to Michaelson, this year’s Hotel Café lineup features “Love Song” songstress Sara Bareilles, as well as a rotating slate of 12 other rising artists including Joshua Radin and Cary Brothers.

The North American leg of the tour kicks off March 6 in San Diego, Calif., and wraps up April 12 in Los Angeles. Unannounced dates are also planned for the UK, Europe and Japan.
