New York Dolls launch winter tour

The following news item does not contain a single reference to Iowa, New Hampshire or presidential candidates, thereby making it a rarified slice of writing that avoids any discussion of town halls, electability or metaphorical horse races. Paste hopes that you appreciate this interruption.

And what a fitting interruption it is, since, after all, what could possibly be farther from the real-world sobriety of exit polls and undecided voters than the New York Dolls? The Dolls want to put the "fun" back in "election year," so the boys have decided to launch a late-winter tour to promote their 2006 release, One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This.

Two original members of the Dolls and an array of newcomers will hop on the road a couple of days before Valentine’s Day, spreading love for its own sake, clear into mid-March.
