The Hold Steady recording new album, touring in England

The Hold Steady recording new album, touring in England

About a month ago, we told you that The Hold Steady was working on a new album and that the band was touring with Art Brut. Hell, we even told you how you could you get your hands on that Live at Fingerprints EP.

Why do we care so much? Well, for one thing, those boys were our May cover stars, and it just so happens that they made our second favorite album of 2006, Boys and Girls in America. So yeah, we like them, and we want to make sure that you, dear reader, are in the loop about all things Hold Steady.

Which is why we’re happy to report that the band will be in the studio throughout January and February. If that’s not enough, according to Boys and Girls producer John Agnello’s website, “the new record … is gonna be awesome.” But if even that is not enough for your daily Hold Steady quota, how about some tour dates? See below, because if you are a resident of Florida or the United Kingdom, it's time to get pumped.

January
19 - Ybor City, Fla. @ Czar Bar (Skate Park of Tampa 15th Anniversary Party)

February
25 - Glasgow, Scotland @ The Classic Grand
26 - Manchester, England @ Academy 2
27 - London, England @ Koko

May
09-11 - Rye, England @ Camber Sands Holiday Centre (ATP vs. Pitchfork festival)
