Casey Affleck had a big 2007. Between The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Gone Baby Gone, the actor is finally coming into his own out from the shadow of big brother Ben. Building on all of his recent success, Casey will be returning to the screen in another starring role in the newly announced period noir The Kind One.
The Kind One is based on Tom Epperson's novel of the same name, centered on an amnesiac working for the mob who falls in love with his boss' girlfriend. It doesn't actually sound that much like a noir story, that's the word. While The Kind One's director is still unknown, Gone Baby Gone producer Sean Bailey will be working on the picture. The book will be adapted by Epperson himself for the film, just as soon as the Writers Guild of America strike ends.
