John Fogerty will perform with Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard during a special Cornerstones of Rock segment at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday (Feb. 10).
Fogerty will join Lewis and Richard in a medley of the three artists’ hits, including Richard’s “Good Golly Miss Molly,” which Fogerty recorded back in 1969 as a member of Creedence Clearwater Revival. This year’s ceremony is especially significant for Fogerty, whose album Revival is nominated for Best Rock Album alongside Wilco, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen and Daughtry.
Organizers of the annual Grammy Awards ceremony have a penchant for bringing together artists from all corners of the music world, and this year’s ceremony will be no different. The confirmed performers for this year’s show are Feist, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Foo Fighters, Andrea Bocelli, Fergie, Josh Groban, Herbie Hancock, Lang Lang, Beyonce, Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, the Clark Sisters, Kanye West and, via satellite, Amy Winehouse.
The show will also include a gospel segment featuring Trin-I-Tee 5:7, a Beatles segment featuring the cast of Cirque du Soleil’s The Beatles’ Love and Julie Taymor’s 2007 film Across the Universe, and a 50th Anniversary segment featuring Rihanna and the Time.
The 2008 Grammy Awards will be broadcast live this Sunday, Feb. 10, on CBS. For a complete listing of 2008 nominees, visit Grammy.com.
