Black Francis announces new date for Svn Fngrs

Black Francis, who, like Prince, is hardly ever mentioned without a history of past nomenclatures, has announced that the Cooking Vinyl release of his “mini-LP” Svn Fngrs has been fittingly pushed back to the day most associated with American procrastination, April 15.

The 20-minute albumette was originally planned for March, and has been available online since April 1, but it’s okay, because a statement on behalf of Mr. Black, er, Francis, has apologized for “any confusion this may have caused,” and stepped back to let the man himself do the bulk of the hype.

“I won't bother you here with what the damn concept is,” he states, “but let's just say the theme revolves around a lot of NASTY sex, NASTIER death, and beautifully strange birth.” Sounds like familiar territory for the ex-Pixies frontman, whose lyrics have called for rolling around on dirty floors, intentionally bleeding all over one’s dress and the terraformation of Mars.

Francis, who re-claimed his old Pixies moniker for last year's Bluefinger, said the similarly-named Svn Fngrs is not a continuation of the previous effort's Herman Brood fixation, though the project did begin as B-side work. Regardless, Francis stated that he assures Brood "would approve of all this nasty business.”

Written, recorded and mixed in six days, Svn Fngrs was produced by Jason Carter and features bass work from Violet Clark.

Svn Fngrs Tracklisting:
1. The Seus
2. Garbage Heap
3. Half Man
4. I Sent Away
5. Seven Fingers
6. The Tale of Lonesome Fetter
7. When They Come to Murder Me
