While the status of Darren Aronofsky's most recent throwdown-oriented projects The Wrestler and The Fighter remain in various degrees of production, the filmmaker is in the midst of developing a new drama entitled Riverview Towers.
AMC hired Aronofsky (Pi, Requiem for a Dream) for the psychological thriller, which focuses on a family that moves into an apartment complex with paranormal activity. We can only speculate how the plots will thicken. All Poltergeist, all the time? Like an apparition-riddled version of Funny Games?
The pilot's being written by John J. McLaughlin--who was also responsible for Aronofsky's up-and-coming Black Swan. Thanks to Hollywood Reporter and /Film for the tip!
