Singer-songwriter Joshua Radin headed back to the studio this week to finish recording his sophomore album Unclear Sky.
Four tracks from the upcoming album are already available on iTunes. The exclusive Unclear Sky preview includes “Sky,” an acoustic duet with Staten Island songbird Ingrid Michaelson, and “Lovely Tonight,” which features alt-country rocker Ryan Adams on guitar. Producer Rob Schnapf (Elliot Smith, Beck) joined Radin in the studio to produce the new album, which is slated for release this summer.
Radin’s debut album We Were Here was released in 2006. His song “Closer” was featured in the 2006 film The Last Kiss starring indie-music’s biggest mainstream cheerleader Zach Braff. Braff had been a fan of Radin’s music since his days on the Garden State set, and handpicked the song when he was asked to compile the soundtrack for Last Kiss. Braff even directed Radin’s video for “Closer” later that year.
Radin recently finished trekking about as a member of the Hotel Café Tour lineup, with artists such as Michaelson, Cary Brothers, Sara Bareilles and Meiko. He is also planning a summer tour in support of Unclear Sky, with dates to be announced soon.
