Ladyhawk preps for U.S. tour, documentary release

Not to get all Jerry Seinfeld here, but what’s the deal with Canadian rock bands? I mean, what’s the deal? It's like, they rock, and they're not from the U.S. or the UK! They must be putting something in the Labatt Blue up there because over the past few years, bands like Black Mountain, Tokyo Police Club and The Besnard Lakes have been putting out album after album of pure rock goodness that would make Neil Young proud. Incidentally, these bands all seem to sport some serious lumberjack-style beards, which probably serve as a survival mechanism for those cold winter months.

But we digress... Another of those wonderful Canuck rock troupes, Ladyhawk, is prepping for its latest U.S. tour with Saddle Creek friends Neva Dinova. The tour is in support of Shots, the band’s newest, booziest (boozy in a Raymond Carver sort of way, not an Andrew W.K. sort of way) record. Ladyhawk has posted a couple of free tracks, so you can hear for yourself.

The band also has a new documentary hitting the festival circuit soon. Let Me Be Fictional captures the band’s bare-bones recording sessions in an abandoned farmhouse in Kelowna, British Columbia. But you already knew that. You can watch the trailer on the film's official site.
