Alejandro Escovedo is a determined man. Just four years ago, he arrived in an Arizona emergency room vomiting blood, and was told that he didn't have much time left to live. His years of hard drinking had finally caught up with him, and he had contracted hepatitis C.
But worry not, folks. Escovedo is not only still alive and kickin', he's making music, touring, and recently talked to Paste about his current health (which he describes as "amazing"). His new album, Real Animal, drops on June 24, and he's about to start an extensive country-wide tour that includes six dates where he'll lend his hipster cred as an opening act for Dave Matthews Band.
