Beth Orton extends Comfort of Strangers tour
Beth Orton’s 2006 album Comfort of Strangers was
the hastily pulled together result of her work of just one week
with Sonic Youth collaborator Jim O’Rourke. The speedy turnover for the record came about after O’Rourke
heard Orton play and demanded just five days to show he should be the
one to produce the album. O’Rourke also appears on the album playing
bass, piano and marimba. Orton plans to bring her acoustic tour to
North America in support of the album and has just recently added more
dates to the summer stint which kicks off in Boston. Throughout, Orton
will perform acoustically, accompanied by Rob Moose.
