Only four or five years ago, it may have seemed a little silly to write up a news item on an indie hip-hop group out of Chicago that hasn't even released a proper LP to date. Now, thanks to the wonders of the interwebs (and, yes, because their music is insanely catchy), The Cool Kids not only garner national recognition, they're playing huge summer festivals like The Roots Picnic and Lollapalooza. Bands like The Cool Kids, Vampire Weekend and The Arctic Monkeys truly owe a large debt to Al Gore's invention.
It also appears that because of their swift shot to national stardom, the Kids have been forced to push back the release of their debut full length 'til later in 2008. However, the duo's first EP, The Bake Sale, is available now on iTunes and will hit store shelves on June 3. Meanwhile, The Cool Kids have several live dates scheduled:
