In a world where one can collect many worthy things—stamps, Coke cans, baseball cards—why not collect The Cure? In anticipation of its September 13 release, the band has opted to release a single for the 13th of each month leading up to its 13th studio album, which comes on Sept. 13th.
That’s right, expect four exclusive singles with b-sides in the coming months and then a whole new album. So far the singles have only been announced for May and June. “The Only One” will include the b-side “NY Trip.” On June 13, the band will release “Freakshow,” including the b-side “All Kinds of Stuff.” All the more reason to be a Cure-atelist instead of a philatelist.
The currently untitled release will be The Cure's first full-length album in four years, and will be released via Suretone/Geffen Records. Plus, in a week’s time, Robert Smith and company will embark on a tour of North America, including a stop at Sasquatch. Can’t wait until then to hear the new stuff? Head over to TheCure.com to stream a bit from the first new track.
