New Antony single, tour in the works

Last time we checked in with Antony, he was hard at work on the next Antony and the Johnsons record, a group you may recall for its amazing, Mercury Prize winning record, I Am a Bird Now. Since then, things have been pretty quiet on the, ahem, Johnsons front, what with Antony busy vocalizing with his Hercules and Love Affair side project of late.

But it seems the Antony news drought has ended, as he is prepping a new single for his still-untitled upcoming record. The single should be in our hands sometime in October, which coincides with a short tour. Don't get too excited, though. Only five dates have been announced so far, and there's but a single show in the states. (Harrumph. Portland gets all the good concerts!) Each of the five gigs will be conducted by Nico Muhly, and will feature a full orchestra backing up Antony.
