The Apples In Stereo, after recently releasing their album of b-sides and rarities, Electronic Projects for Musicians, decided that they wanted to get out of the stereo and onto the stage...and the screen. In the next few months, they'll be appearing in venues, movie theatres and living rooms near you.
Part
of this decision is, of course, routine. You release an album, you go
on tour to promote it, right? But this particular tour is more like a
road to the Holy Grail rather than an aimless wandering about the
continental states. The last official date is in Philadelphia, Pa., at
World
Cafe Live, on Aug. 2. But two days later, the band
will appear on stage in NYC with Stephen Colbert. Robert Schneider and Co. will
presumably be playing their song, "Stephen,
Stephen,"
which is what they played on their first visit to The Colbert
Report.
It will be the first time a musical artist has been invited to the
show twice.
In other new news, Schneider will make a cameo appearance in Mike Myers' new movie, The
Love Guru.
He'll be playing the song "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" with
Kentucky bluegrass band The McKendrees on stage during a bar fight,
so keep your eyes peeled. It will also be his first appearance on a
movie soundtrack.

AIS and Sc5 are both great but not connected that I am aware. Similar melodic guitar pop. Sc5 main output was in the 80s.
