Taking a cue from Marvel Comics' successful translation of its comic books to the silver screen, video game developer and publisher Capcom has announced plans to develop a series of films based off its video games.
Haruhiro Tsujimoto, president of the Japanese company, says that Capcom wants to set a higher standard for the game-to-movie genre. Capcom, which is the largest international video game developer, has already released three films based on its popular game Resident Evil. Other popular Capcom titles include the Street Fighter series (which has also been adapted to film), the Final Fight series and the Mega Man series.
