Deerhoof to Offend Maggie, play cheap shows

| | Comments (0)
The members of Deerhoof recently announced that they have finished their new album, Offend Maggie, and they'll be releasing it October 7 on Kill Rock Stars.
Like some other bands recently, Deerhoof will be giving away one song early for download, accompanied by an invitation for those who nab it to make it their own and turn it back in. This time, there's a twist, though: the song will be available as a written score only. Deerhoof's actual recording of the song won't be heard by the public until that fateful October day, nor will the mystery song be named until then.

In the meantime, Deerhoof will picnic with The Roots, tour Japan (with Xiu Xiu) and appear on the soundtrack for the new Will Ferrell movie, Step Brothers. The band will also collaborate with director Jon Brion.

Following Maggie, the band will go on "a world tour of all-ages venues and low ticket prices."
